I have a Brunco Hearthglow with 8" pipe going out the back into a brick chimney. I'd like to replace it with a more efficient stove. I would be heating about 1500 sq ft. I was at the local stove shop last year and the price was over $3500. I had a chimney person out to give me a estimate on a 6" liner and they told me to look at Lowes/Menards stoves. Are their stoves any good?
Also, the chimney person quoted me over 2K to put the liner in. I think I can do that myself. The only issue is the only access to the chimney is thru the 8" hole behind the stove. How do I connect the pipe from the stove to the liner? They mentioned a tee and to clean the chimney I would pull the stove pipe off and vaccum the soot out after cleaning the chimney.
