It does not specify in the manuel whether or not I can insulate the 2 90 deg. elbows and b-vent pipe that would be inside the enclosure for my zc fireplace. Does anyone know if this is possible?
All I want to do is get as much hot air out of that enlosure as realistically possible while it is all open and easy to get to.

i don't think you should. my buddy has them and says they get very hot. he even said the vent coverings in the rooms they feed are hot to the touch.

Now why not split them and up the cfm on the fan. If the fireplace is burning that hot a few cfm should not make a difference as long as you are not making a creosote factory.

Remove said fan, and either have it rewound or buy one online with more cfm. Put a thermometer on the vent. I bet you could use a in line booster like you propose. My brother has a bis unit by lennox, he just added a menards fan and it did increase a lot. He ran the right dimmer and runs it at 3/4's now and it is more volume then the original on hit, probably half again! He can not run it on high because it will cool the firebox too much.

I already said you need an air space clearance around the B-Vent per the install manual (in the other thread). You cannot put insulation on it.

If it doesn't say TO do something in the manual that usually means don't. If they had to list everything you can't do the manual would be 1000 pages.

Just because the manual doesn't say TO do it doesn't mean it can't be safely done. Don't worry, I scratched the idea of insulating my B-vent. I appreciate the help from everyone.
