I have a 8x13 flue(that orange looking thingy) sticking out the top of my chimney with a basic 8x13 cap used to keep those squirrels out. The chimney company doing install of the 25' full liner to the top said he would reuse this cap. He thought it would look better. He will put a plate across the 8x13 with a 4" hole for the pellet vent pipe to come out. Any thoughts about the difference between a 4" pellet vent cap and a 8x13 wood cap. Don't want to mess up the draft? Every installer and stove retailer has had a different idea on venting.

Thanks,
-DC

draft will be fine
just be sure they seal the pellet vent pipe and the flue tile at the top so NO ASH comes down the chimney and gets sucked up into the room air blower then back into your house
