How much does it cost and is it worth it?

Thanks

I did my brick chimney two summers ago. The chimney had been unused for five or so years before we moved in and moisture began to seep into it. That's OK, except when it freezes! I found little bits of brick and mortar on the ground beside the chimney. My father in law repointed the mortar and I sealed it with some stuff I had to buy at a specialty store. It cost about $50 for a gallon and I used probably 1 liter max. I've had no problems since and it's nice to see water beading off the outside of the chimney.
