Is this normal? New Englander insert Auger dripping oil?

Auger has been screaming lately. The stove is barely a month old. So i pulled it out and saw this. I don' ever recal seeing this on my other stoves. Is it shot?

That looks like the grease that’s supposed to be IN the gearbox. It probably isn’t shot but definitely needs to be replaced. Call englander and they will take care of it. Have your stove ID #, model, date of purchase

The second picture seems to have a 'tail' trailing off of the pipe. Looks like some sort of plastic.
 
What looked like plastic was the black auger wire in pic 2
