Im sure you'll be ok, a couple of experienced posters say you should be okay and they know their stuff, just wondering why you dont stack it in a longer row, you can go higher and then come winter time you could put a long thin tarp across using Daves method or theres a couple other ways to do it.

I feel much more assured after all the comments. Thank you, to all who chimed in! Wood burning is truly one of those on-going learning experiences and I'm so glad I found this forum! If not for all of you, I wouldn't have had such an easy time last year and my brand new stove and chimney probably would've been a mess! Midway through the winter I probably would have run out of wood and STILL had a cold house! Thanks to the forum, I can easily achieve a 12 hour burn out of my stove and do it SAFELY! There really is a science to it, when you're trying to get as much transferred energy as possible out of a small stack of wood. I can completely understand how this lifestyle could easily be construed as a hobby. It's almost as if we are all trying to defy Mother Nature and physics by somehow getting more energy out of a finite source, via Paleolithic techniques! LOL! Again, a BIG THANK YOU to all who take the time out of their day to help out a fellow wood-burner, be them a "newb" or an experienced veteran!
