Makes you wonder how humanity survived for centuries before there was just a hole in the roof to let the smoke out

Fake or not, I can see this claim being realistic:

(In Stockport, Carolyn Beesley says her neighbour’s wood stove creates a smoky smell that lingers for hours and has exacerbated her asthma.

“I might have my washing out, I might be out in the garden enjoying the sunshine. I don’t want to be engulfed in that cloud of smoke,” Beesley said. “I’d expect it in the country, but I didn’t choose to live in the country")

I've personally driven past countless houses where the chimney was belching out smoke. I am a huge fan of wood burning, but as we all here know there is a right way to do everything, and a wrong way.
I wouldn't want my neighbors chimney belching out smoke at my house. I think I put forth a good effort to minimize visible smoke from my chimney. But some people just don't care, and they make us all look bad.

No question many people burn improperly. It is incumbent upon us all to promote proper burning and protocol. As far as that article, "FAKE NEWS". Actually some of it may be factual, but reading the comments posted afterwards make one appreciate living in the Good O'l USA and having an True American President who is actively fighting socialism. My God those people are so brainwashed. Enough of my ranting. Burn baby Burn!

and every household burned coal. I remember looking at hundred of chimneys that had black soot coming out of them

Anyone who steps outside and looks at their stack should be able to wonder what would happen if you crammed a million of them together in an urban area with 2 million cars and then tried to breathe.

Use your brain, not your.... politics. If you don't want to think about it, read about it. We have plenty of history on the subject.

Things are better now because we changed them.

Fascism: Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and control of industry and commerce, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Not quite sure ol' Donald is doing that. But, to your point... our government has never been a true free market capitalist economy or government. We've always had a pinch or two of fascism or socialism through regulation, lobbying, taxation, corruption, etc.

I dont think the current president is more fascist than that last. However the last was more socialist that the current - that cannot be denied.

Back on point though.... factually does a cat stove like a Blaze King have more particle emissions than a modern diesel?

No he isnt able to get there completly because of the structure of our govt. But it fits his style of governing more than anything else out there.

Let's stick to wood burning.

If that can't happen, the thread won't stay open.

As far as bk vs deisel that will depend on the deisel and how the bk is being run

The guardian. One of the fakest online news there is. pushing a globalist agenda, would like it not being pushed here as I want to read about wood stoves, not being fed with this crap.

Stay independant, and being able to burn wood is a big part of your own energy independance. Add to that that I rarely see anything else beside steam out of my chimney with my EPA stove, older stove will be eliminated by attrition. If we listen to these people, we soon won't have the right to do anything for the sake of the "environment"

Political opinions are not welcome, helpful or necessary. Closing thread.
