That cat will be really active for a few days..scary active sometimes.
Knowing what I know now I would build small fires for a few days. Break the cat in slow. Good for the paint also to do that.

i was planning on getting the cat active and then turning it way down. Finding a good book and hangin with the stove.......

Perfect..just try to not load her way up for a few days. A lot of off gassing on a new cat really drives the cat's temp way up.
You're going to like that stove. Cheers!

I got it installed, feeding it it's own shipping crate tonight...... pics to follow.

Priceless.....enjoy your new stove. Quality equipment!

Ok. This is kinda fun watching the smoke roll out of the stack to get gobbled up by the cat.....

That sounds great, but maybe you should post some pics before you get too comfortable. ==c

Looks like you could build a man-cave around that! ==c

Looks like some walls are going to need insulating so that a third of this stove's output is not lost to heating the earth outside.

The man cave is the garage with the bikes..

I have never put so much pine in a stove before. The thermostatic damper is AWESOME!!!!

Normally stoves in garages are against code. Did your inspector grant an exception?

Got it, this would be man cave #2. You will save burning a lot of wood if the walls get insulated.

How much you trying to heat with it?
Heating from the basement can be trying.

900sf upstairs in a rancher. I'll be insulating before next winter

Prolly be fine if you do that,at least most of the time since you are in PA. .not that it can't get cold there!

So far I am really impressed. With the old stove a full load of pine pallet would have over-fired almost immediately. The BK just took it in stride. I slowly raised the temp and in a bout 3 hours watched all the paint flash over and cure.I found the sweet spot on the damper too, sitting pretty with a 450° stove top right now and going to bed.....with some windows open cus its only 45° here now.......

How far did the cat probe get to?
But good to hear you're happy so far.

It almost pegged in the 2nd hr but I was watching closely and dialed it back.

It's good to hear that you've had a successful lift off. And it's great that insulating the basement is in the plans for this summer. With a good stash of dry wood you will smiling at old man winter next season.

You will find some odd things happen when you "dial it back". Sometimes, this just creates more smoke from the fuel load which feeds the cat and actually makes it hotter!

Nothing wrong with a stove in the garage. I've got one, all permitted and insured in the last year. Comes down to tradition and interpretation of the building/fire code.

Ok, creepy. I google image searched "Blaze King Princess" just a minute ago and was startled to see my pic of my stove in my basement........

Wow, On a side not note the stove is doing well in it's summer hibernation. 82 today with 89% humidity in central PA...... I am itching to load this with good seasoned cordwood, which i was of late last winter and switched to brick fuel. The cold snaps keep coming and its making me wish it was colder, 5 months from now i probably will be wishing otherwise, but hey.............

Nice. Every stove will get 15 mins of fame.

Do you have the fan kit? If so, how long is the power cord please?
