The idiot bar is often deformed like that straight from the factory. Mine is/was.

I notice that your bypass retainers are melted in front right behind the cat. That's where mine melted too and it happened under normal operation per the manual with the bypass closed. I think the cat just gets too hot there. Freaking glowing after all.

Highbeam are you referring to these as the bypass retainers? I’m trying to identify what you are seeing as being melted? I’m not seeing anything that has melted, except the idiot bar.

Sorry, the bypass gasket retainers (thin little channels) melted away and cracked in your earlier pics. You are correct that those little SS clips are called bypass retainers because they lock in the bypass plate.
