Lol,you should see all the wackadoodles here burning in their backyards.should put a stop to that.I assume those wildfires that burn for months were "registered" also...?
I think that is what they are trying to do. Getting people to upgrade or stop burning. Now some people just burn those firelogs once and awhile, but those are terrible. I can say the chimneys were good. Big double wall. We didn't use ours much as we had no wood. I did buy fire logs, but they were hit and miss. They would start out nice, then at the end it sucked.Open fire burning, whether outdoor yard waste or indoor open fireplace, is a magnitude dirtier than modern wood stoves.
There's probably a long list of people who are ready to report neighbors they don't like that smoke them out. I have no idea why they put 8 chimneys on that building I lived in. Just asking for trouble. 4 units had roof top patio's too.Reading the bylaw seems reasonable to me, not saying I agree with more government oversight. Not sure where the $500 fine comes from listed in article. Could get expensive for noncompliance.

Yes for sure. They have no record now. We did have them inspected and cleaned for insurance reasons. And to get anIt starts with registering, then they have an address to send the request for payment for your wood burning privilege license.
They will be making sure it costs as much to heat with wood, as it does with other fuels. Such privilege will probably cost more.
The money must keep moving for the money to be taxed...
I believe our insurance went up $900 when we added the second wood burner... I stopped paying attention.
I have done the calculation, but that was awhile ago. When they say cord of wood that is a measured value by LWH in inches, not BTU.I want to keep things simple, burn some wood and enjoy...
Why can it not be that easy...
Brother in law was our insurance broker, he said the correct answer is under 1 cord. But that was before stove #2.
I'd say that a 4'x4'x8' stack of pellet bags is a cord?
