Picked up my first stove, a Jotul #3 in great shape, and just got it installed. Any advice or feedback on this stove? Hoping $300 was a fair price.

Also, the installation instructions indicate that the rear clearance can be reduced with an optional rear heat shield. Woodman’s Parts is no longer able to source the exact shield. Can I use an HYC Board on the wall, with air gap, to accomplish the clearance reduction?

Thanks!

That looks very clean. If the insides look as nice you got a good deal. Yes, you can reduce the rear clearance to 12" using proper wall protection.

Well, it's been sadly neglected but it's a good little stove. If it is not in bad shape inside it would be much safer than the US Stove. Not sure what that grate is doing inside of the stove. Do you have a closeup of the label on the rear? Need to know which version this is. There have been several F3 versions.

This is a 3-TDIC and that grate is the mixing grate. It's not the best choice. This was a catalytic attempt. It's more complex and costly for parts if you can even find them. Not a stove you want to find neglected.

It was more than 100 miles from me and I can't drive that far. He sent me pictures, but I couldn't zoom in enough. I did notice there were 2 handles on the front, but couldn't find any pictures like it.

I did see this stove in the Richmond craigslist.
