Ordered a replacement gasket for the glass on the door about 5 weeks ago. Nothing yet
Anyone else experience poor response from Jotul regarding parts?

Yes, as it turned out they didn't get the dealer's fax order. After that I got it within a week.

your local hardware store should stock the fiberglass gaskets for all your stove needs. its not rocket science with gaskets. i don't think there is such a thing as "factory". a 3/8" rope gasket is a 3/8" rope gasket. as is a 1/4" flat window gasket... just find the correct size that you need.

Actually there is a difference in gaskets. Unfortunately, the Rutland line that is in our local hardware store only has low density gaskets, and no flat, glass gasket material. But if your store has Rutland's flat glass gasket, it might work in a pinch. http://www.redhillgeneralstore.com/A48205.htm

atcomo, did you order direct from Jotul or from a dealer? You might want to give another Jotul dealer a call. Maybe try Preston Trading Post? They are a Jotul dealer, and also carry Rutland gasket. You can ask them if Rutland would work in this application. http://www.prestontradingpost.com/gaskets_and_cements.htm

I have one local store that carries Rutland, another that carries Imperial. I have both brands in 5 areas of my F3CB without issue for several years now. Including a flat glass gasket. So if there is a difference it is news to me.
