Just rebuilt mine. It wasn’t horrible. Definately will have 3-4 tubes of Rutland cement next time. But I see the baffles cracked, not horrible, just enough to notice. Once you reseal it and put the baffles blankets back, it will rock.

The F600 cast baffles usually held up well, unless someone superheated them by leaving the ash door open. That will lead to warping them, if done a lot or worse, the bottom plate cracking (usually in left rear corner as you face the stove). The Firelight is a great heater, operated correctly. The secondary burn system will last year after year, if not disturbed when re-loading. But changing the interior of a stove is not a good thing to do. Stay safe all.

Did they also call the F600 the Firelight? I thought that was the moniker of the F12. Looking at the manuals, Firelight is used in the F12 manual, but not at all in the F600 manual.

Hey BG, yes the F600CB still was referred to as the Firelight Model, had the same body.. The F600 was the final version, had a side door handle, the ash pan had its own handle. The prior models had the recessed bolts in the front doors and the side door, but was the clean burn (secondary tube and chamber) system. Stay warm sir.

Right you are. I looked a bit deeper into this. The F12 is a completely different stove inside with a bypass (foot pedal) catalyst, refractory assembly, etc. Apparently, the first,non-cat update was also called the Firelight in the manual. This was the double-door version of the F600CB. It got an update around 2007 and Jotul dropped the Firelight moniker completely along with the CB designation. The 2007 F600 manual has no mention of this name.
