So the windows are closed, wood rack in house filled, and stove top at 580*.

No doubt a long ways from the end of this burning year around here. Low 20's expected the next couple of nights with snow tonight. Like you, our temperature has been falling all day and it is expected to drop 40 degrees from this morning's high to tonight's low. Well shiver me britches, that will feel really cold.

I had a fire yesterday, 75 and sunny today, potential snow for tomorrow night into Wednesday. Doesn't look like I'm quite done yet.

Man it Sure is cold there Dennis! We hit the low 70's here today but we have 2 days coming up with highs in the 40's.. Wood shelter 99% full right now and I don;t want to touch that wood until the fall.. Fingers crossed!

Close...But Sunday was all day snow/wind high in the 30s/40s... Probably run it tonight, too Creeps back up to 50s/60s this week, biggest factor for me is sun. If it gets sunny, my windows and exposed sides gather enough heat to let some baseboard heaters pull the night. As long as it's sunny and house stays above 60, I don't fire up the stove till night. If trap enough heat during day (house above 68), then unless it gets below 25 at night, house stays above 58-60 by morning (higher if baseboard heat is running).

I'd be running it more if the wood I had was seasoned. But starting to run out of all the beetle kill, and don't want to mess with the rest that needs more time to dry. So if ~1000w of heating can do it, that costs me at most $50 a month

Still, probably get snowed on again for three days mid-May...Be running it then.

The end of March is pretty much the tail end of our "season". This year: not so sure. We're pretty much out of seasoned wood, but chilly nights have forced us to ration the remnants of our "stash". Every night we look at each other and ask, "well? is it cold enough?". April is a "winter" month in our estimation. Sure... , it can be deceivingly warm, but it can also deliver a hefty snowfall. I am not fooled.

We have a reserve "stash" and since spring is coming we'll suffer through. We'll be, "touching one off" for the next few days, however. The best thing about the "shoulder season" is that it doesn't take much wood to, "take the chill off"!

I'm closeish to St Louis and it snowing just west of downtown.

It was 60 degrees last night at midnight when I climbed on the roof to nail some shingles back down. It's 36 degrees right now. Lol.

Well, we didn't get a lot but our ground is white. Only about an inch here but a friend about 60 miles east of us got 4". I also saw a few cars on the road this afternoon that had lots and lots of snow on them. Not sure where they came from but they certainly had snow.

Forecast now is for 16 degrees tonight. Yes, the stove is cooking right now.

Our forecast is for 5"-8" today and 6"-10" tonight. Gotta love it! Last burn for the stove is quite a bit out there yet.

The fool dog and I enjoyed snow at 5AM. It's sunny but blustery and definitely a "hat day". My shop is 72 degrees and I was mighty happy to fire up the Classic at 6AM. (lawn mowing seems a distant goal )

The wetest February on record and the 3ed wetest March. I'm having to mow my place and the church every week now. Send some of that snow our way as the snow pack around here is very small. A wet wet winter and now we are looking to have a very dry summer.
