The last wood from the storms earlier this month has now been cleared, and the council yard is empty!

The last load out was this little scrounge this morning.

Fortunately, the yard is near the shops, so I was able to leave my wife happily shopping while I loaded up the rear of our little hatchback. As a bonus, there is some fresh hawthorn in there (the orange wood), my favourite wood, very dense, burns hot, and seemingly burns forever.....

That looks like most of my scrounges. I never get whole trees, always a branch of this and a round of that. Every load in the stove is a mixed load.
 
That hawthorne reminds me of our thorn apple.
