Hi,
My pellet insert keeps failing, with proof of fire diagnostic code (2 quick red blinks) even though Ive replaced it, snap switch and blower

It starts, flame gets going but then slowly dies out after a period of time. Im not sure if this is a vacuum/seal issue, but Im running out of ideas as I want to enjoy my stove but its not performing well at all.

thanks
Rob

I would check your outside air intake and make sure it’s free and clear of any blockages. The photos indicate lack of air

Proof of Fire Switch This switch needs to be removed and cleaned after every 100 bags of fuel burned. Cleaning Procedure: 1. UNPLUG STOVE! 2. Locate the switch on the combustion blower (see Figure 52). 3. Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the 2 screws which secures the switch to the blower housing. 4. Using a dry cloth, wipe off any flyash build-up on the sensor portion of the switch. 5. Reinstall switch. Ensure wires are properly connected to the switch and the connectors are not making contact with the blower housing. Close side panel. Note: Failure to clean the proof of fire switch when needed may result in nuisance shut-downs because the fly-ash build-up insulates heat from reaching the switch.

Try this

Thanks for the reply and yes, I tried all of that, but still not working properly. Those pics were from before I did another deep clean of it yesterday and found it interesting that all that soot built up around the pof switch, blower, etc...any other thoughts?

Did you test the proof of fire switch?
Even a new one can be defective

The air intake. It is a stationary steel tube that is in the back of the stove. About 2” in diam

Is that the tube from one of the pics I shared? It has the latch u can unlock to clean out? If not, I dont see any other tube back there or in the manual

That looks like the exhaust, it should be at the back to the right in the diagram.

It would be straight back from the burn pot . Probably can’t see it without pulling the stove out a lil bit

Draft Adjuster - Adjustment Procedure The Winslow™ PI40 insert has a draft adjuster located at the right side of the insert directly in front of the combustion blower. Should the insert installation require long runs of vent pipe, a situation may be created where excessive combustion air is flowing through the firebox and causing the fuel to burn faster than it can be delivered to the Burn-Pot. Should this happen, the draft can be slowed down by the adjuster. The insert is shipped with the adjuster in the fully open position. To slow the draft down, loosen the 5/32” allen head screw (A in Figure 46) and move the adjuster handle toward the center of the insert. Retighten the screw when the desired adjustment is reached

They call it a draft adjuster
