When we turn our whitfield 30-2 pellet stove off we smell a strong smoke smell. It is not just right after it's turned off it can be many hours later. It's not a pellet that got stuck somewhere and is smoldering I know that smell and that's not it. Also when we use our compressed air can to spray the eye to clean it before we turn it on, the ash starts blowing everywhere from spraying it so we close the door real quick but it still comes out the door everywhere. Is that normal? The fans were replaced a year or so ago because it stopped and smoked our whole house up and we had to have ozone machines put in our house for several days. Where should we check for leaks and how? We have used that high heat silicone on the piping behind the stove but no matter how much we put on it seems like the heat just goes right through it. Could wind be coming down in our pipe and blowing the ash in some how? But how is that possible if the door is closed?
