I'm using a wood boiler to heat my home already, but was thinking about replacing a propane freestanding stove with a wood burner.
I'm not sure if ash cleaning and smoke is something I want to work around in order to have the ambiance that a small wood stove will give me. Some 'links' to quality manufacturers of small wood stoves would be helpful.
Any ideas?

There are a million of them out there. Are you just supplementing your heat so that you can see the fire? If that is the case, you definitely want to look at a stove that has a secondary burn. Lots of fireworks, very pretty to watch.

This is a good place to see several brands together, along with an idea for prices. There are lots of other brands that they don't sell, but it is a starting point.

Additionally, if you are really just lighting a fire for ambiance, you don't necessarily want to spend the added premium for a top shelf stove. Now if you do, there are lots of other places to look ;)
