Cape Cod, Ma
Picked up the new stove today a day early. I found myself off work and called them to see if it would be OK.

What a fun time it was unloading the 500lb stove from my truck up onto my front deck.
I backed the truck up to the stairway and ran some ramps up the remaining step.
A friend helped me roll it across and up on the deck. She really helped out.
I don't think I could have done it alone with what I had.

The first couple of pics are un-crated.
The next couple are its first burn.
I plan on burning it for about 5 hours on high to bake off the paint.
I snapped on the cleanout t and a 3' section of vent just to arrest any sparks.
I am keeping an eye on it as I really like my house. :)

Had 1 issue lighting her up the first time.
I put in about 20lbs of the new Okanagan's I picked up Monday and turned it on.
It tried to do a start up cycle but of course the auger was not primed.
Ended up getting a flashing 3.
Cycled power and it then started up no problem. :)
Of course the burn pot was really full by that point and was pushing unburnt pellets out the sides.
Got lots of flame right out of the box
I let it burn those clear then moved the hear up to setting 3.

Only question I have is that the top cast plate seems to be floating in the front.
It seems like it should be more firmly fixed in place.
Does the top remove to empty the hopper? I don't see it in the manual.
I'm sure I'll figure it out
Also the hopper door sits high on the gaskets. I assume this is to allow the gasket to wear down and still seal.

Unit is sitting my my front porch and heating up Cape Cod as we speak.
Hope to install it tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,
---Nailer---

nailer, When she's dry add 2 to 3 handfuls of pellets to the burnpot. It will fire right up. ;-)

Sure is a nice looking stove. I'll admit I am a bit jealous! :red: :sigh:

I figured for what she cost, a first burn should be with something nice.
Kinda like celebrating with a 20yr old scotch.
Besides,
I wanted the paint to cure with a good hot flame.
Okies were about the cleanest hottest thing I have in stock.
Besides I still have to move this beast into the living room.
I didn't want all that heavy ash weighing it down :)

I have the heat level up to #5 and it still seems pretty quiet.
Glad I fired her up outside. The fumes coming off it are strong.
I can't imagine what it would be like inside a house.

Think I'm gonna like this thing.

Wow, that's a nice looking stove. Glad it's going well and I hope it takes care of you for many years. Looks great!

Those are truly one of the most beautiful stoves on the market.

Congratulations Nailer.. Looking forward to how it heats compared to the EF2.

And like the others.. I too am jealous ;-P

Hey Mike

Nice Stove! Is it a little more modern that the old manual light EF-2? LOL

Anyways I still prefer a lighter steel stove with the 3 sided glass, but I know you got a reall good one there!!

Good luck!

It looks great. I know what you mean about the weight. I was going to pick mine up also until I found out what it weighed. Had the dealer deliver and sit it on my hearth pad. Anyway enjoy and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Stove looks great Nailer! I'm sure it will do a great job in the house....and make sure to post some post-install pics.

Enjoy the heat!!!

I havent cleaned my stove or had to scrape the burn pot. installed oct 18 2011.

I do like your stove. It was on my list but dealer here on long island wanted 5,000. Found the m55 with similar looks and pulled the trigger for 3200.

I here you. I looked at the harmon xxv and the dealer basically talked me out of buying it. He didnt think the were anything more than a room heater
Good dealer makes a difference

But as BrotherBart says the space I want to heat is my house.

However the dealer that dissed the XXV knows it can heat more than one normal sized room.
