It's such nice masonry, I don't want to destroy it. Hoping to come in from behind. Is that possible? Do you know of a zero clearance unit that will fit?

Are you sure you're looking for a ZC fireplace rather than an insert? Some more information about your setup would be helpful, and maybe some pics. Is this a traditional masonry fireplace?
