Looking For Ideas To Make A Stand or Bigger Wings For Elect Splitter

I have a set up where I pull up the splitter onto a pallet that gives me about 9 inches of height,, but thinking of making something else, from wood with outfeed table and wrap around ,or just a higher stand and make some larger wings to attach to my (HF 7 ton splitter. Weight 185 pounds)
I am thinking maybe make some wings to attach where the old ones are that fold up , or maybe not fold up

I hate it when the pieces fall off the back ,and I have to reach over or walk around.

Next would be to do something with the switch , I could wire it up so the motor would run all the time, not sure that's the best idea .
I have a foot switch that will handle the load but , it isn't waterproof so it probably wouldn't be a good idea in the snow .
Yes I would like a better splitter but ,I am just looking to make this one work better .

I built a table out of scrap lumber for my 5 ton splitter.



I hooked a bungee cord to the control lever so I could operate it with my foot.

Build another table on top of the existing one, so the splitter is below the table. Just the ram and the wedge protruding above.

That's what I'm planing to do, just haven't found a roundtuit.
For now I just set a pallet behind the splitter.

Flatten the existing wings to use as a mounting place for a piece of plywood cut like this: Drill holes in plywood and through the flattened wings. Bolt on.

okay Jags ,now you have given me an idea that I can't believe I didn't think of before.
I have two old tablesaw extension wings, cuz I don't throw away good steel.
Now I'm thinking I could put a spacer and some washers , under the bolt head, or shoulder bolt, slot the edges of the wings and just slip them on so I could remove them for transport .
the bolts holding the wings on 25" apart , the tablesaw wings are the typical 27"

Pretty sure I do have some bar stock that size but, I don't think I'm picking up what you're laying down

okay now I'm thinking, attach bar stock lengthwise on the top of the tablesaw wings with a space under the bar stock and just slip them on to the existing wings ,may have to flatten the outer edge of the existing wings

Well jags, the plan was not going to work, not enough metal to slide onto, those little wings that come on it are only 1 1/2. wide tablesaw wings are10" each
Come to find out the holes already in the tablesaw wings were only 1/16" off from lining up perfectly ,rattail file took care that, went and got some longer bolts ,bolted it right on.
Those tablesaw wings only weigh a couple pounds each, I will try it out with just the back one on first but probably put the other one on the front also , they are fairly strong but I will need a brace from the bottom of the tablesaw wings to the bottom carrier rail on the splitter .

the biggest reason I wanted them to be removable is because of the very tight space where it has to live in the shed , cram packed with all the stuff , but I can squeeze it in there with the bigger wings on it.


I wish they went further down by the wedge but I think they will help a lot , turned out to be easy and used some scrap I forgot I even had

To move the wings down towards the wedge, actually a little past the wedge, attach wings to angle iron or similar, attach that to splitter, and some braces to the carrier rails, conduit, flatten ends, drill holes,screw on
The wings would do a better job in that position
