Hi all,

Rookie here , haven't owned a stove since the 80's . Found this unit online and its it pretty nice shape so we picked it up today. Heavy sucker !! My research has been limited as I can't find any comparables to this unit. Any and all tips, tricks, hints and sarcasm accepted !!

This is going in our ranch home, aprox 1,000 SF open living room/kitchen area with bedrooms at the farthest end facing the stove . I dont expect a lot , just there to help cut electric furnace costs and provide us with some heat during power outages .

Also it seems the stove pipe market is 2 major brands with duravent leading the way ?

The "C" is for coal. If you wanted a wood stove, you didn't get one. It could possibly burn wood, but not as well as a wood stove.

I did see that , but approved for wood and coal in Canada ?

That was basically all i've found relating to use and history . Guess I will have to call in the morning

The manual is available online.

It mentions burning wood but doesn't have very clear instructions (for example how to work around the coal shaker system, and it says the coal startup air is 'used' during a wood burn but does not explain any further).

Talked to previous owners , they burned wood , had it for about five years . Inside looks solid metal and all . Riding have time to call the company today , the tag said manufactured in 1997 so I'm not hoping for a lot of info . Had a different look to it is why we bought it and England has a pretty good rep from what I've seen online . Thanks much for the help . Will be printing out the manual tomorrow as well. Then finding young muscle heads to help get this beast in the house . Wife looking for a satin red high temp paint and I still have to build the hearth.
