Question:

I'm trying to replace an outdoor cast iron fireplace/BBQ for wood that is encased in brick in our backyard. The chimney was built in '47 and the fireplace has HANCOCK OUTDOOR FIREPLACE on it; the Hacock Iron works was said to be in pontiac michigan. There is a firebox with grill and a separate piece that is an oven.

Answer:

I don't know of any particular unit..there are a bunch of gas units that can build in... Peterson and Ducane are two of the manufacturers... As far as wood/charcoal units- I've seen some built-ins listed in masonry supply catalogs. Stop by your local masonry supply house and check their catalogs.
