I keep telling my kids this, when they peel and pull on things (including previous cuts).
In 99+% of the cases it's fine. But when it's not, one can loose a limb. Or worse.

But as one of them is a hypochondriac if I show them this piece, she'll think with any virus it's sepsis ...

Yeah, it’s one of those things where who doesn’t cut themselves daily? I got sick of No Mow May and started knocking down the hay in the backyard with my weed whacker. I’ve got black cap raspberry scratches all over my arms already. I don’t see the rest of the day getting nicer to them, as soon as the wife gets home I forsee more yard work, lol.

Whenever i hear sepsis i always think about George Clooney in the movie 3 Kings.
  • You know anything about gunshot wounds?
  • Conrad Vig: I don't know.
  • Archie Gates: Specifically, the worst thing about a gunshot wound, provided you survive the bullet, is something called sepsis.
  • Chief Elgin: Infection of the blood...
  • Archie Gates: That's right. Say a bullet tears into your gut. It creates a cavity in the dead tissue. That cavity fills up with bile, and bacteria, and you're fucked.
