I used on DutchWest insert with rear exit pipe & liner. It alarms at 500F. No probe to interfere with cleaning.
I also added a magnetic temperature switch so the DW blower would only operate when hot enough. Before that, blower is blowing cold air in morning or whenever I got to it. Replacing firebrick in firebox with soapstone was another good upgrade.
