They've 50%'ed everything except wood and pellet stoves.

I wonder if the want to hold the inventory or figure there will be enough storms to convince people to buy them.

Beings how rampant consumerism, fueled by a largely corrupted social/financial/political/governmental juggernaut, has been brought to nearly a standstill......

I'd say that's par for the course.

Provide the masses, whom they (apparently correctly) deem to be stupid cattle, with all manner of excess and debasement, then swoop in and skim all the cream in the barrel, while leaving that breed to twist in the wind, compelled by the 'cwhoreporate media' to bare the guilt, and then you can install yet another sychophant sock puppet to promise to put a stop to things.

That's the age old modus operandi that certain peoples have used for eons in order to "enrich themselves".

Pretty "crafty" I'd say....

God bless their hearts.

Distilled version: Lowes is hurting because "Those who will not remember the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them."

Imagine how the Chinese must feel right now.....I hear that millions are out of work and heading back to the countryside.

Walmart and Goodwill are doing great though, I hear.

Go figure....

I was able to beat Lowes out of a NC-30 today. After reading Sourbeers thread about 50% of in Penn. I decided to call a couple of stores in Erie. As I figured they were all sold out. After calling the Amherst (Buffalo) store the clerk told me that they had four of them in stock. He also said they were 50% off because end of season. As of two days ago they were not on sale I figured he made a mistake. I got his name and told him to hold one for me and I will be there in an hour. When I arrived , my thoughts were right. they were not marked down. After stating the facts with the manager he finally agreed to honor the 50% off. We loaded the stove and I was off.

DWW68, good deal - you haggle better'n I do. Our Lowes has a sign.."50% off, stoves, fireplace acc, fireplace maintenance, etc". So, I wanted the $6.50 4' fiberglass rods for $3.25...they're like "No go...they're NOT in the seasonal area where the sign is - they're in the back next to chimneys - stocked year round" I thought about making a big scene but decided I should wait for more than a $3.25 payoff.

Lowes out here in WY has them all 50%, but they don't carry the NC-30. All pellet and wood stoves 50% off- Pellet stove sold out the first day of the sale. Got some good hearth stuff cheap though!
