I had Maine Wood Pellets last year which were recommended by my stove dealer.. They burned fast, dirty and IMO not that great of heat out put. Had to supplement with GS when I ran out and due to the shortage last year.. They were a relief after burning the MWP and seeing the iffy reviews they get.. But every stove is different

I started off with a ton of MWP and they were dirty: lots of ash and sort of sticky stuff on the glass. The heat was steady, kind of unimpressive, and the burn rate was pretty good. The next ton was Corinth and they are burning hot, not very much ash but clinkers and just dust on the glass. I clean every 200lbs, but with the Corinth my burn pot was filled with a square black charcoal honeycomb. I thought that maybe the stove was changing so I took two bags of the MWP from my basement stash and they burned just like they did a month ago. I have only turned my stove up past 1 on two days this December with the Corinth, but they seem to burn a little faster. Ten years ago I burned 1100 gallons of fuel oil. In recent years I've gotten it down to 700 gallons. Last year was my first with pellets and I cut that to 300 gallons with 3 1/2 tons of pellets, and the old house just seems so much warmer. This year, the furnace has barely been on, and I have seen no movement on the gauge. My fuel company called and gave me a 5% discount offer if I would come back to them, because they figured I had switched companies.
