Welcome to the forum Courtney. Nice set-up - love the mantle. I look after the stove in our house but it's free standing with a three foot horizontal exhaust so easy to do If your concerned about doing it yourself, you could hire someone for the first clean and watch. Folks here are pretty good it you need additional advice. Not familiar with your manual but some are pretty good at walking you through this too (mine isn't

Pellet stoves operate much differently than wood stoves. Pellets have a very low moisture content. Where wood, if not seasoned properly, has lots of moisture. So a stove burning wet wood, with low flue temps will have conditions for Creosote to condense out and form in yout chimney.
Burning a pellet stove on Low, with pellets (normal moisture content), will only create creosote in rare conditions (some stoves differ here). Your Quad burns at a good rate with high enough temps to not worry.
What is your vent set up? How much horizontal and how much.vertical? Is it 3" or 4" vent? This will play a part on whether the conditions exist and also your fuel? Do you store your fuel indoors? Outdoors? Covered? Not?

Courtney: I had a service tech clean pellet stove after the first winter in use. After that I have done all service myself. Clean the inside, ash traps, vac the hopper, vac the blower as they collect pet hair, and of course I clean the vent with the lint eater after each ton. Then follow up with the leaf blower (do a search lots of great videos) just make sure your neighbors are not in their yard having a picnic when you do this. I use damp rid in the firebox during summer and cap the exhaust outside to keep the humidity of the summer from rusting the stove. I have had stove for 3 winters now and no major problems looking forward to many more warm winters.
