Ok, all finished on repairing my mama, thanks to this site. I bought this stove last summer, for 50.00, to replace an old barrel stove in my shop. I had no idea what I was getting! I just had some vague recollection of hearing about fisher stoves years ago. I was extremely lucky, not just to get a mama for that price, but also one that was in basically decent shape. I wire brushed the rust off and painted it. Then I found this forum, and learned what else I should check and do to it. I pulled the door pins, removed all the rust, and greased them. Greased the threads on the air dampers. Replaced the firebricks. I think the old girls good for another 30 years! I just couldn't be happier with it!
It's gonna be warm in my shop this winter! Not to mention cooking while I work.
Thanks again for all your help!

Awesome man! This site has been a godsend for me too. I've had great experience with my Fisher Grandma bear. I have to use the old wire brush and paint on mine today. You'll love the fisher, it won't disappoint.
