Am I mistaken in saying that the firebox looks like a coal fired one?
It actually has 2 small grates one in the front and one in the back, so I don't suspect that it would be a very good coal heater.
 
I'm curious on price too $15k ish?
You hit the nail on the head here. It would have been several grand cheaper if we didn't use fieldstone as a veneer, as it took the mason quite some time to put that puzzle together.
 
Twenty years ago, a Tulikivi kit cost $9,000. Build it yourself.
I hear they are much more costly today.
