When I sit and watch my stove I swear i can hear my room blower motor changing tunes and tones on the same blower speed. Ussc ashley 5660l. Does anybody else notice this or am I mental

NO your not mental, mine does the same. Seems like it will speed up for a split second then ramp back down. I was wondering the same, but must be something normal with this stove.
Pellet stoves operate as a sealed system maybe changes in pressure causing the fan to slow and speed up a small amount are causing those noises
Hmm. Im checking the schematic and I dont see anything that could affect this by temp or anything. Maybe its built into that new digital control

I don't think it would be imagination when it's doing it on 2 of the same stoves. I think it's built into the system somewhere. I was still trying to figure out if it was coming from room air blower or exhaust motor. Every time I would hear it, I would get up to go investigate, it would not do it again. I would set there, hear it again, get up, but would quite before I got to it. I sat in front of stove for a few minutes and it would not do it again.
My combustion air blower modulates with the t'stat as the stove ramps up and down. When the stat calls for heat and the stove is idiling, the CA blower ramps up. When the stat is satisified and the stove ramps down, the CA slows down (unless I have it on manual override), then it's a constant speed..
The RA bpower never changes speed unless I put in in manual overrode and then I can slow it or speed it up. I leave it in auto all the time.

Mine did the same, in my case I eliminated the control board and designed my own. When I did this I added a rehostat that controls the high fan and was able to slow dow the fan just a little, enough to get rid of the noise. You can pickup a rehostat at lowes for thirteen dollars and wire it in series with the hot wire going to the blower fan and do the same. They have two models a 1.5 amp and a 10 amp, get the 10 amp as the motor draws 1.9 amps.

LordmetalZ28, are you operating in M or T mode, I have never ran mine in T mode, I have always been running mine in M mode (manual) when I hear that split second motor speed up. Don't quite understand how T mode works, so I don't go there.

No not annoying, just noticeable at times. Almost acts like it is something built into how the stove works. Maybe heat exhaust temp. sensor, picking up something, and ramps maybe a blower or something. Its not annoying, its not a loudness that's out of ordinary, it just sounds like the unit is just adjusting something, over something it picks up thru a sensor or something, if that make sense.
Yeah it does make sense.since several other stoves have the same noises and are operating properly I would classify it as normal so no worries mate.but I like the idea that you know your stove so well that the slightest sound variation catches your attention

Mine does the same thing, I noticed this the first day when I had it on heat setting 3, it's like the stove senses that it's got too hot and speeds up either the room blower or the exhaust blower to expel the heat.

Guys, this is not a feature of the stove. If you were to plug the blower fan directly into a wall outlet you would hear the same thing. Believe me I know! I went through two control boards with mine because static electricity was taking them out and as a result I built my own controls. Even after this I had the same issue with the fan so I added a rehostat to slow down the fan when on high just a hair and the noise went away.

I guess If all of the 5660l are doing this its not an issue and I wont worry about this until the day the motor dosent turn. Then its time to burn that cheap natural gas up.
