I hate meatloaf..but not this one...
Mr Gamma saw the recipe on the food channel and was going to make it. I surprised him a couple weeks ago and made it.
It is really delicious. The only thing I substituted was Pecorino Romano cheese and I put marinara on top and sprinkled some Pecorino on it. Link Removed

When I was growing up we where very very poor and my mom made meat loaf all the time from canned meat because that used to be cheap. Meijer had a discount isle back then and it was all banged and bashed items for next to nothing. The meat was 10 cents a can usually so we ate a ton of it. She would put ketchup on the top about an inch thick and use it to seal the juice into the meat loaf while baking it then it would crust over and make a ketchup hard frosting
. to this day I don't like eat meatloaf without a ketchup top
