Mini Splitter

Anyone have any reviews/opinions on the yard machines 8 ton splitter, or the brave or champion small splitters?

A few years ago I got a 7 ton Powerhouse at Amazon. I had no splitter and wanted to try something for not too much money. I can split up to 21 inch long and 12 inch diameter oak without any problems. It is obviously nothing compared to 27 tonners, but it works fine for me. No regrets so far.

I am thinking more along the lines of gas powered, where I cut my wood doesn't have any access to electricity.

At virtually the same price as many of the 22 ton units on the market I don't see any advantage other than possibly the size. Specs do state that operation weight is 138 pounds, so I guess you could toss it up on the tail gate of a truck or something.

I am sure they are functional. I have one of the electric 5 ton units that I will say is kinda impressive for a little dude. But the bang for the buck seems to be weak in my opinion.

Just trying to remember the last time I tossed 138 pounds, hmmm......
