Ok, I got some dead ash but other stuff not sure.
I think some Elm, some kind of birch, or poplar, other stuff IDK :)


Ok I am guessing here

PIC4 is construction site where they are putting the wood, I can back right up to

Pic6 n 7 is a piece I split at home , what is it ??? smells funky

1 cottonwood ( poplar )

2 elm maybe, but looks close to hard maple bark too.

3 top one ash, bottom one elm

5 cottonwood, maybe aspen (both are poplars)
6 & 7 cottonwood/poplar

Pic 2 not so good but 2 different types so one on left may be maple A ?
All ok BTU's ,,Shoulder and starter wood, I will go drag home some more :)
Construction site 1.8mi from my house :cool:
Edit :Most of load was dead ash, oh ya, free top soil here to
 
Nice score with it being close by.
Looks relatively easy to get close to & load, that's a plus too.

Need top soil for the garden ? Looks like some good stuff.

Top soil to fill ,low spots,new grass POOF
Close to & load ? ya , I can back up on top of it if I want to , cut ,load, move, cut,load, move ;lol
Cut on site ,leave the mess :)
 
1 - poplar (cottonwood)
2 - elm
3 - Norway maple (top) elm (bottom)
5 - Norway and poplar
6 & 7 - sure looks like sassafras......when you say "smells funky", is it a good or bad 'funky'? Sassy smells almost like lemons, kind of a root-beerish smell..

I was smelling it a lot ,trying to figure out what it smelled like, near the outside it does smell kinda lemony , the heart wood is not as pleasant , It may be sassafras
