Moisture content question

My new moisture meter just came today from Harbor Freight.

This evening, I cut down a standing dead cherry tree, about 16" dia at the base.

The meter readings at the end grains are around 35%. I will split this wood tomorrow and stack it on pallets.

My question is this: how long until this wood dries to 20%?

i had some from last year used it in the smoker last week it went up like a book of matches

Pair up some Cherry on a hot bed of coals with some Oak or Hickory on top and you'll have just your shorts on in the middle of January.
