Hello. We bought a new house and it has an existing wood stove from 2014. You can see it in the corner of the image below:

We would like to move it to the adjoining room and use the same chimney for the pipe. I thought we could also use the space between the wall and the chimney to store wood.
As you see in the picture below, there is already a hole in the chimney that has been previously blocked up with concrete:

What is the best way of removing the concrete from the hole to unblock it? Can we also use the same method to block the hole currently in use?
