It's in. Man this thing is quiet.
Compared to the EF-2 it runs silent. I keep checking to see if it is still running
Install story.
Climbed up on roof and loosened up the asphalt shingles around the old 3" flashing.
Popped the nails and pulled the shingles out. A wonderbar works great for this.
Got the flashing exposed and disassembled the vent down to it.
Found a dead very dried mouse in my cathedral box.
Pulled off the flashing to get to the cathedral hanging box clamp on the pipe.
Down below I pulled out the old stove and removed as much vent as I could.
I had to mark the cathedral box for the upgrade to the 4" vent as I didn't purchase a 4" box.
I used a set of dividers to mark the box 1/2" larger evenly around the 3" pipe.
Then I pulled out the 3" pipe.
I used a Dremel with reinforced cutting wheel to increase the cathedral box opening from 3" to 4"
Skill and patience comes into play as this is a visible cut.
Had a buddy help lift the M-55 into place. Heavy (cost me a case of beer)
Assembled the 12' of vent straight up. Connected the new 4" vent to the stove.
Mine is a pure vertical vent system.
I have my clean out T directly attached to the appliance adapter at the rear of the stove.
We loaded in a bag of Okanagans and fired it up.
It looks great and is running much quieter than I thought.
Night temps were ~27deg and I left it on manual lev 2. Woke up to a 69deg house and a smile.
No paint burn in smell as I had cooked it off on Wednesday night.
Today I have to replace the roof shingles (I didn't do it yesterday due to it being cold then but supposed to be warmer today)
Here are a few pics Inside complete (except thermo)
Thanks,
