So I've been trying to find a used stove to try and cut down on all the waste that's made in the world, but it seems that they all get scooped up fast, and I'm left to navigate the leftovers.
Here's my current options, would love another opinion before I go crazy with my comparison charts.
I have a 1350 ft.² manufactured home. We do have central heating, but we would love to use a woodstove as mainly our main heating source, plus to heat up water and warm soups and such. We don't need it to be 75 degreesin here in the winter, but 60 wouldn't be bad. We're in the mountains in North Carolina where it's usually in the mid 30s, but can get down in the teens for a week or two.
Our current three top options:
Napoleon 1100 C for $800. I'm guessing it's 30 years old but it's a cast-iron in decent looking condition. The bricks have been removed but are there, so we just have to figure out how to reinstall them. It's a 4 hour drive round-trip so there's no check in it out and then going back home and thinking about it
A 2022 buck stove 21 for $1000. Needs legs (are all wood stove legs interchangeable?). Luckily in our neighborhood.
Three is giving up the used stove search and buying a drolet new. The escape 1500 looks good and L and M supply has them for $1000.
Thoughts?
