might be building dream house,576 sqft timber frame house small dream lol.just wondering if a aderlea t4 could do the job without fan

forgot to add open concept with loft.tired of hearing fan all the time lol

Heat will go to the top. You might want a ceiling fan.

A T4 will heat a 500sqft, insulated structure. Depending on how you plan to use the structure it might not be the best choice. It’s not going to have a super long burn time, for example.

Yeah heat will rise to the loft. My parents have stove in kitchen with open loft above over 1/2 of the kitchen. Most of the heat goes right up there. The 8ft ceilings in the other 1/2 of the kitchen below the loft that also lead to the living room and the rest of the house do not catch much of the wood stoves heat. Thus all heat gets trapped in the loft bedroom.

It would be much better to have the stove in a room with the lower ceilings on the farther end of the house from any loft.
The heat would travel thru other rooms before it rises up to a loft.

In your case if you can put stove under the loft vs the high ceiling section open to the loft it would better heat the whole space.

haven't done the complete floor plan yet still open to movement.it will be ng heating, water tank, etc but would like to keep heating down ,there going to be starting to put carbon tax on ng ,oil

ceiling fan for sure hate air conditioning ,so i sweat under the fan lol

Go for a T5 better to have some extra then to need it later, you can always burn less

With a loft, a ceiling fan will be more of a necessity than one on the stove. Without one, hot air will stratify up at the ceiling peak making it feel cool at the floor level and like a sauna in the loft.
