I have recently acquired a Russo Glass view stove Model 2GV. I can get a fire going but it does not stay burning for long. I have the air intake on the door full open and the top bar is open with the spark screen in place. I was thinking of adding a Grate that is about 2 inches high to see if getting more airflow
under the log will help. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

What is the moisture content of your wood?

Was that wood split and stacked 3 years ago? Or in round form?

If you can't measure moisture content, try burning some scrap 2x4s or some scraps of 2x4 mixed in with your current wood supply.

Most manufacturers recommend against using any kind of grate, but I can't say that for sure for Russo as I have not read the manual.
