Hi, I have a gas fireplace from Alladin Hearth Products, model DV750, seriel GA541736 in a rental house.
The pilot won't stay lit so presumed faulty thermocouple. the hosue is 3 hours from me. A service man is there now, he can see the pilot assembly but says he cannot find a way to access it. he says the thermocouple connects to teh controls on the left side then goes underneath and up throught a panel in the bottom of the stove which he says is not enough room underneath to access. He also says the whole pilot assembly looks pretty corroded so the whole thing should be replaced, but again, he can't seem to find a way to access it to even replace the thermocouple without removing the chimney and laying the fireplace on it's back.. Seems there has to be a way to access and service the pilot assembly without doing that. can someone please help?

There should be two fasteners holding the pilot assembly to the floor of the firebox.
If he removes them, he should be able to carefully lift the entire assembly upwards.
There should be enough movement so he can undo the nut retaining the thermocouple in the bracket.
Once he's done that, the thermocouple should be disconnected from the gas valve &
removed thru the bottom of the unit. Yeah it's tight, but it should be doable.
