Saw my neighbor today....funny thing....he said...your husband told me you got a wood stove this winter.....what I can not understand is..."Why don't I ever see smoke comin from your flue pipe?"...Apparently he burned wood many years when he was younger....when he asked me that....I responded...."Good fuel and a darn good stove....and a lot of help from the folks at Hearth.com....."...Thought I would share that because as a newbie and the stove is gettin shut off tomorrow....well, I feel good about the knowledge I have learned.....I have come a freakin long way and am thankful....guess since he never sees any smoke...musta been doin something right......oil tank gauge has not moved in months......and our footsies have been very very warm all freakin winter......Just wanted to share...Thanks to all....

Congrats. Yer doing it just right.

As it should be!

That's a nice pat on the back to receive.

Well done.

Thanks guyz....still waitin for my Hearth.com t-shirt....pink size smalll...will wear it on my upcoming vacation.....free advertising.....would be a conversation piece....a chic with short blonde hair and a crap load of silver jewelry....wearin a Hearth.com t-shirt.....people will have questions......nothin wrong with free advertising.... ;-)

good! since you and mr. gamma are shutting down the stove, can i use your chimmney for a test burn???

Way to go Gamma! My neighbor made a similar observation. Sure does feel good, don't it. Us Pensyltuckians can do this wood burning thang.

Shawn

Good work Gamma! You are an inspiration to others that you could pull off being a successful wood burner so quickly! Women woodburners are a minority particularly a female nurse woodburner.. This proves that anyone can do it with good fuel, installation, information and advice given at Hearth.com..

When my neighbor asked me that, I launched into a lengthy explanation of the various re-burn technologies until eventually his eyes glazed over.

Ha! That's exactly what I was thinking would happen if a neighbor stopped to talk stoves with me! Cheers!

Ah craps guyz....the old fella got a good tutorial of secondary burn technology from me....he was speechless....all he said was "WOW".....I as well informed the girls at work about it and they simply responded "your sick....you really are addicted to the stove of yours".......I guess we all basically think the same here at Hearth.....they say "great minds think alike" ;-)

No. Remove the jewelry. Well, a chick with short blonde hair should maybe also...... Naw. I won't suggest that.

you bugger Dennis.... ;-P Thanks for all your help.....you you....plethera of information.......

My pleasure.

To get my wife to take her top off I have to have it at least 90 in the room!
No prob with the Bk..lol.

Fireview can also do that very easily. Maybe that is one of the reasons I like this stove so well?! :)

The 13 can do it as well Dennis...... ;-P It's the little engine that could......No wonder the husband is all upset that the stove is off....He He....more clothing on the wife.......sweatshirt weather now.......

Well, tell him to get that fire going. What are you waiting for?

Just put a sweatshirt on....he said...Michelle....are you cold?.....and he looked towards the stove.....ready to get one of those cedar firestarterz......and looked at the thermometer on the wall....he said...it's only 73 in here....gettin chilly.....He He..you men are all the same....buggerz....
It's gonna hit 80 here tomorrow.....and 60's and 70's all week......too bad for him....

Michelle, that is how we keep from getting old. My wife and I made an agreement a long, long time ago; before we were married. Looky but no touchy.

EDIT: I should add that agreement was made 50 years ago.

Nothin wrong with eye candy Dennis....kudos to the 50 years.....13 years here together 20.....you have to be dead not to lookie lookie...... funny thing: everytime I would question myself about the stove or wood....I would ask myself....what would Dennis do?.....and from reading all your posts.....I freakin always knew your response....and that is what I would do....what Dennis would tell me to...

Well, Gamma, you're obviously doing it right. It cracks me up every time someone comes on here complaining their stove sucks and doesn't want to listen to advice given. Then, once they finally do what's asked of them, the "AH HA" moment hits 'em.
Seems to me you got the "ah ha" very quickly. Quick study.
I'm VERY surprised BrotherBart hasn't provided the shirt. Let me look around, I may have one here, although I'd hate to step on BB's toes.

Papa....ya missed it...got me shirt ages ago....couple two tree months ago from BB....you know my beloved BB would not slack on the shirt......thanks for the kudos.....still want an "actual Hearth.com shirt"....think they exist....maybe knot...think they should become available though, for us burnerz...

Tell your neighbor to quit staring at your flue. ;-)

Funny thing; you know I can not go long without one of those.....when my new neighbor moved in about 3 years ago.....an older single woman....cool as crap lady.....of course my husband invited her over.....she told me...."Mr. Jones told me that when I moved in that you guyz are the greatest neighbors...quiet...mind your own business....and....wait till you get a look at Michelle.....what a gorgeous creature".......you know what the new lady neighbor said to me......"horny old man......" So I think he is watchin more than my flue..... %-P And the kicker is he is now one of my patients..... Gotta watch when I lay out in the sun.......don't want no peakin.....specially when goin topless.... :ohh:
