I just wanted to poke my head in and say hello. I recently scored a Harman P43 to heat my home with after lurking through your very helpful forum. So I thought I could possibly pass on any knowledge that I may acquire in the journey with my pellet stove.

So far all I have to pass on is to not wait until Fall to begin your search for a used pellet stove in Maine.

Welcome ! And lucky you, used Harmans are tough to find this time of year anywhere. I ran into a used P61 last year for $1500 and didn't buy it. Silly since now I would like a stove my basement.

I got my stove hooked up finally after staring at it for a week.

It throws some heat for sure. So far all I have burned for pellets is the local Walmart stock. They seem to be burning alright for now. I am hoping to install a outside air intake in the next couple of days and I am willing to bet that I am going to wish I had drilled the hole prior to installation. Is there a DIY thread on air intakes you fellas would recommend?

Wish I had soem advice for you - I had my dealer do the OAK. Just wanted to say I hop you enjoy the p43...we got the p61 and LOVE it. Yours looks great!

I put in my own OAK and it was exceptionally easy. It took me about an hour.

WELCOME! You could unhook your P43 and slide it out of the way if needed. That wouldn't be real difficult and would give you room to work on the OAK. Did you already silicone everything? If so it could still be done just a bit more difficult. Looks like you have room without moving it though. It's only a hole.... (sometimes easier said than done). Good Luck! Enjoy that Harman! We love our P68. Harman aside, you will really enjoy the pellet heat.

Yes everything is all sealed up unfortunately however I should be able to get the drill in there to make the hole. I still haven't found a good how to guide as of yet but will keep looking.

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Mainer. Lots of advice here. I have the wall thimble with the included OAK. Very simple installation. What area of Maine are you from?

Assuming you have a conventional hole you can get a thimble set with the oak that fits right in,there is no need to make another hole.

Separate OAK - It is supposed to be installed lower than the pellet venting. Since you already have the pellet venting and the thimble installed, the other suggestions are a little late
