New Harbor Freight 5-Ton Electric Splitter

Just received the latest sale catalog (December 2013 issue). It shows this splitter as a sale item, regularly $349, for $279. With a 20% off coupon, that would be $223.

It shows it as lot #61373, but I don't find any electric splitters online with that number or any other. Must be a retail store only item.

I post this as an FYI, because others have noted that HF no longer shows their 7-ton electric online.

The online listings are not complete anymore. believe this a partial effort to drive purchase to local stores. the number of which has been greatly expanded over the past few years. particularly near larger metro areas. Also their mix of products is slowly changing to a much higher profit factor per item. those items that were slower moving lower profit like wood splitters have been eliminated. They got rid of the big splitters a couple years back already, think they took a bit of a bath due to a suppler that used some very questionable items in their construction. They had a 30 ton with lift for around 1700 and then you use a coupon to get down to around 1500 pretty decent deal, supplies were spoty though it was like they would wait until they could buy a container full, then ship all the backorders.
