i wonder if this is in anticipation of the new board? I was told (by Harman customer service) the new board would be digital and have a clock on it for automatic setbacks etc.

No. Not on what I saw today...
I think this move [at the least] was to make room temp vrs stove temp easier to contemplate for new Pellet stove owners..
they should come to this board in a few months and see how good that;s working for them..
still be a room temp/vrs constant heat battle of which is better....
[ Stove temp guy here.]

I just installed the new 52i Accentra insert, and it shows the option for Constant Heat. I'm told that the previous Accentra model used to have the option Stove Temp. Sounds like that as a change across the board, no?

could be.. the stove dealer just said they changed the stove temp tag to constant.
didn''t mention about any internal so don't know for sure. Stove temp auto is constant meaning won't shut off..
easy nuff to go to web site and find out.
Yeah stove temp is an accurate way of describing what the control board is doing. It is trying to keep the ESP at a specific temperature for what you set the temperature dial at, 1-7, for the model of stove you have. This does lead to confusion though, especially among home owners, I think they made the right choice here in changing the name.

Heard from my dealer about this today. They were anticipating seeing these sometime in the next two years, and his rep told him there would be a retrofit for older stoves, which would be pretty cool. Also available as of now is the heat-activated mirrored glass for the 38+/43/61a. New stoves are coming standard with it, and they can be installed on older stoves.
