I bought a new Huskee 22 ton last week and split 2/3 cord yesterday with it. I noticed a small oil leak near the muffler of the Briggs and hydraulic oil leaking near the bottom hex screw on the detent valve. On top of this, the auto reverse didn't work 100% of the time. I talked to Speeco and they said to notify TSC to see where to take it for warranty repair. Anyone have similar issues?

Mine has been chugging for a few years with nothing other then a filter change and switch to synthetic oil. Hopefully they get it right the first time...

I called the local repair store that TSC contrats their warranty repairs through, and I'm dropping it off today. Hopefully I can get it back soon and have it completely fixed. I still feel good about buying the splitter, but it sucks to send your brand new toy in for repairs after only 2 hrs of running time.

Beagler, I am sorry to hear that you are having some problems with your splitter. What is the name and ph# of the repair shop that has your logsplitter? I will call them and follow up to make sure they are getting the parts they need quickly and that they have any technical support they might need. We will most likely send them a new valve to install on the unit since the auto return is intermittent. The oil leak problem will be checked as well.

Thanks,
Speeco technical dept.

I had a similar issue with some leakage at the hex nut. Took it back to Rural King and they took care of it quickly with no hassle. I imagine this had a lot to do with Speeco standing behind their product (believe they shipped a new cylinder). I have had no problems since and am still glad I purchased it. Great little splitter.

Update:
It took over two weeks for the repairs shop to get a new control valve from Speeco, but that did fix the problem. I'm not sure if that is Speeco's fault or if the repair shop took a while to order the part. It now works great. I have split almost 2 cords with the repaired unit. The oil leak in the Briggs engine was a loose valve cover.

I had a hydro leak on mine when I first bought it as well. The connector that goes into the tank was not threaded/ tightened properly....

Same here...had to tighten one of the connectors during the first use. Other than that no problems. This is a nice little splitter!
