We just got new side rails and insulation. It says to install side rails , install insulation with cut side up .so it falls over the baffle . But when you put the baffle in you can't put your hands To fold It down over the baffle . Does it get warm and fold down on its own ? Here's pics how we have it .

That's looking a lot better. The insulation strips are mainly to seal the gap between the baffle and the firebox wall.

Flops over might be a better instruction. Place the side insulation so that the cut faces the outside of the stove on each side and set them in above the bricks vertically. Install the baffle, then coax the front of the side insulation to lay over the baffle.

Thanks for the video and response . After further review … our heat shield is all warped . It’s kind of stopping the insulation from folding over . What do most do here ? Replace or bend straight ?

I think I have to cut the bolt off the heat shield . It’s just spinning . I’ll try and wiggle a shorty wrench in there tomorrow . It’s pretty warped , is this a part I can straighten as best I can ? Or is it super crucial to have it perfectly straight ?

It should be fairly straight, but it doesn't need to be perfect.
