Hi all, thanks for having me. I have been lurking for awhile now since I bought my Home in Maine. The forums are great and I have found the answers to almost all my questions. Anyway, I have this wood stove in my basement that after going through most of this winter on oil..... I want to be able to use it to offset my oil use or even shutdown my oil all together. I can not for the life of me find any markings on it. My dad said he had one just like it. The house was built in the 80's and I suspect it has been here for awhile. Anyway, if anyone can identify it thank you very much.

Thanks again for having me!

Looks kind of like a home or local machine shop made stove. Have the chimney checked for safety first before trying to burn. Do you have seasoned wood?

I have a chimney inspection on Monday. I do a lot of dumb things, this isn't one I will mess with. I will let an expert tell me if it is good or not. Thanks for the advice. I look forward to using it but don't think the wife would want the house burning down. A lot of fires up this way this year due to chimneys and such. I have a small amount of seasoned but not alot. I would guess enough for a couple days.

Not sure. It has a piece in the top that connects to the water pipes coming out the back that were disconnected awhile back from the looks of it.
