Has some light rust on top and sides. Just wanting to know if we should sand it and if so, how and what materials do we need
 
Welcome to the Hearth. It's up to you. Use a scotch brite? pad and scuff the paint/remove the rust areas. Wipe clean with thinner and repaint with a high temp stove paint, I prefer the paint in a can.
