New stove suggestions

I'm currently burning an older englander add- on furnace and would like to upgrade next year. It makes decent heat , burn times aren't the greatest. Of course heating from the basement , ranch house 2500 sq. Ft including the basement . Masonry chimney which I plan to upgrade with insulated liner . Any ideas ? Thanks

So are you wanting to rear-vent back through the fireplace opening, or would you go straight up with top-vent stove, then 90* into the chimney?

I just purchased a Jotul. I have yet to put it in, but the Jotul model F50 TL or F55 would probably heat your house well. I was going to get one of those but decided they would cook me out of the living room where my stove is. I went with the F500. The 50 and 55 say they have burn times of 8 plus hours on the 50 and 10 plus hours on the 55. Mayhe something to look into. I'm not expert, I have just done alot of research lately and everyone seems to love Jotul

Thanks I've been looking at the Drolets , I like the legend ll . Also looking at Woodstock ideal steel, I'd have to get the plain version .i know that's comparing 2 totally different stoves, I'm just looking for 10-12 hour burn time with an easy re-lite

Keep your old stove. The new burn times are marketing. They are from full start to cold coals. You will save a bit more wood, and have less creosote. But our experience so for these new stoves throw less heat and need more attention.

I'm getting 12 hours I'm replacing my single wall pipe tomorrow it will probably have coals in there for over 24 hrs waiting for it to completely go out

I’ll get 10 hr. Burns with oak pretty easily. Depends on your definition of “ burn time”. If loaded full I re-load every 10.

I loaded my stove at 8 last night that has been 20 hrs 6 hours into the burn I got up put 2 splits on didn't adjust air are anything and 20 hrs later air wide open all day still have this
